Post-Sec 12

This September, grade 12 students will be entering a year with more unknowns than years past. Due to the realities of COVID-19, many of the in-person methods of getting information regarding Post-Secondary will not be happening. Yearly events such as the Ontario University Fair, the Ontario University Regional Fairs, Open Houses, booths and presentations have unfortunately had to be modified.

Rest assured that Laurentian University has a plan.

Along virtual visits with students and families, we are pleased to offer a new monthly webinar series designed with you in mind.  We call it Post-Secondary 12, or POST-SEC 12 for short. Your participation entails a monthly interactive presentation crafted to walk you through the stages involved in a Laurentian University application as well giving you a peek inside the application process. 

As we progress through the Fall, each presentation will expand on the information necessary to assure a smooth transition into post-secondary education.

Grade 12 University Information Presentations

Typically offered in your school, Grade 12 University Information Presentations have been modified to meet your academic needs. This presentation covers important themes, general information and the many choices required for a student to confidently apply to University. The session usually lasts 45 minutes followed by a 15 minute Q&A. 

In light of COVID-19, we ask interested Guidance Counselors or families to either REGISTER to our weekly sessions or CONTACT a representative to book a session. 

Please note that Laurentian cannot set the language of text on the Zoom.us website. In order to view the website in French scroll down to Language at the bottom of the page and change “English” to “Français”

Tune in on most Wednesdays (French) and Thursdays (English) from 4:00pm - 5:00pm EST. If these days do not work, we will be offering select Saturday presentations as well. Please register using the following link. The link can be used for any of the presentations!

New telephone hours of operation

In order to allow for shorter wait times and better services for students provided through the call centre, Liaison Services has made a change in their telephone hours beginning September 14th 2020.

Please note that the following changes only reflect changes made to the telephone hours as service delivery is still being offered in various methods daily from 9am to 4:30pm. To view the list of services for students, please visit https://laurentian.ca/services-for-students

Monday to Friday, from 10am to 2pm

*NOTE: Prize Packs are randomized. Sweater sizes may be requested, but size may not be fulfilled depending on availability. 

How do I enter?

 

Post-Sec 12 Sessions & Grade 12 University Information Presentation: At the end of the session Coordinators will share an entry link with participants where they can submit their name into the draw. 

 

Campus Tours: Information is automatically collected after your tour is attended. 

 

Who is eligible?

 

All Post-Sec 12, Grade 12 University Information presentations and Campus Tour attendees are eligible! 

 

*Note:  In order to be eligible for the Post-Sec 12 and Grade 12 University Information presentations, participants must REGISTER and ATTEND the sessions. 

 

Entries are only eligible for the week of the attended presentation, the entry form must be submitted no later than midnight on the Sunday following the attended presentation(s). Previous Prize Pack winners will not be eligible for future draws. 

 

When will the draws take place?

 

Draws will take place on Monday mornings. Winners will be notified that same day.
