Laurentian University's Research Ethics Board (LUREB) is a committee that reviews all research involving human participants. Their review is based upon the perspective of protecting human subjects involved in research protocols. LUREB’s role thus ensures compliance with the Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS2). The committee is concerned primarily with ensuring that all research projects and practices respect the three core principles of the TCPS 2 (2018) which are, respect for persons, concern for welfare and justice throughout the life of the project. LUREB membership consists of multidisciplinary faculty with various areas of expertise in research, graduate students, as well as community members.
